I tried signing up but I never got the email you promised so I can’t

Why does the initial map always place me in San Francisco (or some other
location)? I’m not anywhere near there.
-
When you first visit the web site, we attempt to determine what city you
are located in based on your IP address. However, mapping IP addresses to
physical locations is not always accurate and sometimes not possible at
all.
-
If your starting point shows as Alcatraz (in San Francisco Bay), then we
are unable to determine your physical location from your IP address. This
is sometimes the result of new IP allocations that have not been entered
into the geolocation database or you could be connecting from an address
belonging to AOL or another large provider that, because of the way their
networks are configured, prevents geolocation services from determining
your location.
-
On the other hand, if your starting point shows a different city (e.g.,
you’re in Sydney but the map starts you off in Canberra) then the
geolocation service most likely has incorrect data for your IP address.
In some instances, the geolocation data may not have sufficient accuracy
in your country to locate your IP address in a specific city and may only
be able to report your state/province/prefecture/etc., or in extreme
cases, your country.
-
What do those goofy pictograms mean?
-
They show, in a compact form, what amenities are available at a brewery,
e.g., whether the brewery offers tours, has a restaurant, sells beer to
the public, etc. If you place your mouse pointer over an image, a short
tooltip will be displayed showing what the symbol represents. The
complete list of pictograms and their descriptions can be found on the
pictogram page.
-
What browsers are supported?
-
This web site has been tested with Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer,
Opera, and Chrome. Not all versions, especially older versions, of these
browsers have received significant testing. If your browser is listed by
Google as a supported browser
then the maps should function as intended.
-
Can I just view a list of breweries without seeing them on a map?
-
Sure. Start with the list of countries.
